    Mint: maintenance tips

    A vigorous perennial with cut foliage renowned for its distinctive flavour. Can be grown in the ground, but pot cultivation helps control its spread.

    Common name: Mint

    Exposure

    Prefers a lightly shaded spot.

    Watering

    Water regularly to prevent the soil from drying out between waterings. Water more often when growing in pots.

    Planting

    Adaptable to most soils, it prefers moist, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. For pot cultivation, use pots at least 30 cm in diameter to promote good growth.

    Fertilization

    Fertilize after planting with an all-purpose fertilizer. Fertilize every spring thereafter.

    Harvest

    Leaves are harvested as soon as they reach a usable size. Harvest regularly to promote plant growth.
